Normal dog behavior/ meaning

I have a robo hamster, and I let my dog watch her in the tank from a distance. The hamster doesn't care and notice, but latley my dog has been shaking and doing this slow wag. Should i move her away?

Do not introduce your hamster and dog.

Dogs are evolutionary predators. You can have the nicest dog on earth and it will still have a long bred instinct to eat a small rodent.

    Sincerely, a veterinarian.

As someone who had a crazy, predatory, Husky, I can tell you right now that your dog sees that hamster as something that must be killed and possibly eaten. It's best to keep them away from each other.

  • Haven’t you ever seen a dog shake when they want something? Pretty obvious what’s going on dumb to introduce them. My dog ate one of mine years ago when she pushed the top off the cage. Can’t blame her when she’s part beagle but also my fault for leaving the cage not high enough. But to show the dog a hamster is just waiting for a problem.
