Normal for music taste to evolve with life experiences/feelings?

Like let's say someone listened to hard rock and metal when they were depressed but then when they got out of it and are in a happier place they listen to indie rock and indie pop.

Is it normal?

It'd be weirder if your musical tastes DIDN'T grow with you as you grow as a person

Feelings, gross. Keep them away from the musics please.

When you're happy you enjoy the music. When you're sad you understand the lyrics.

I don't need depression to understand that Daft Punk is going around the world

I still listen to some songs that I grew out of.

For e.g. I find myself listening to the Legend Of Zelda rap ( a song I listen to every now and then )which was a song made by the YouTuber, Smosh even though I completely grew out of watching them.

I fully believe it is completely normal. In my teen years I liked hard rock, heavy metal and speed metal. As I've gotten older I find I enjoy more relaxing music and can't really find the joy in really heavy metal like I used to. Though I still like 70s and 80s rock. I also find appreciation for genres that I didn't care for earlier in life.
