Normal to leave everyday wounds open and untreated?

First thing I see most people do is apply some disinfectant and a plaster or bandage. I've just never done that. The wounds go away by themselves and I've never got any infections from them. The body also learns to build up stronger immunity.

Same thing with going to the doctor. People book appointments for the silliest things, like colds and flus. Drinking hot drinks and wearing warm clothes usually sort those out too.

Continually pumping antibiotics into the body decreases their effectiveness and the range that can be used in the future, when they're needed for more serious treatments.

Its normal and often is just as good.
BUT you do get the odd occasion where it's advisable to at least clear it out or keep an eye on it (then again that also depends on your environment and a lot of other factors)
It's not abnormal but it's certainly more common nowdays to do the whole disinfecting and bandaid mumbo jumbo.
Better safe than sorry i guess but it at the same time is pretty easy to overdo. (Antibiotics for instance being a very good example here)
But at the same time not everybody's body is the same and some need to be more careful than you need to be.

Also some people like band-aids because it allows you to have something to soak the blood up and help stop the bleeding instead of waiting five or fifteen minutes for the bleeding to stop without getting blood everywhere in the process...Given it is a small enough wound to be covered by the absorbent pad on a band-aid in the first place and you'd rather not get blood on random things.

As long as the wounds are not too big. Beware of dentists also! Ultimately your health is your own responsibility.
