Not caring about climate change

Is it normal for humanity to not take climate change seriously enough? Firstly if you don't believe in climate change, I don't care about your opinion. Because 99.99 percent of scientists know that climate change is real, and that humans have accelerated it to a dangerous level. I mean look at the flooding going on right now, or record heat, and wild fires are even worse because they create heat and kill vegetation. All of these things are happening now in the US. And during hurricane season we are having to go around the alphabet for names more then once during a year sometimes, hurricanes are getting worse and hitting places they didn't use to. It's already not good, but I think that eventually climate change will kill millions when whole countries can't feed their people because of droughts, wars may start. Different places on earth will become uninhibited and there will be a big refugee problem.

      Careful here, Clunk. The Book of Revelation has many symbolic references to water and oceans. There are references to the oceans boiling away which cannot happen literally, but is likely a reference to super-evaporation where water molecules reach above the stratosphere and are blown away by alpha particles of the solar wind. We may be a few centuries away from enough atmospheric heat to initiate this environmental process.
      
      I do not want to discuss this inevitability with you any further. As you know, my religion is science. We have agreed to disagree on the Bible which I think has a few good ideas, but is mostly folklore that was written centuries ago for people who believed in magic.
      
      I am raising the super-evaporation inevitability because I am confident you will find apocalyptic shit like this to be interesting.

        I recognize that, and I recognize it as an inevitability. However, I would say that there is no reason to stop it, since the Apocalypse of St. John is, of course, about the end times, when Jesus shall return, and that will happen no matter what, so trying to put it off is pointless.
        
        I do find it quite interesting, yes, though I would hardly say I need to be careful about what I'm saying, since, if it happens, it's going to happen no matter what, and nothing we can do will stop it.

        I'm just a normal person who drives a pickup truck. I try to drive less now though, ha. But I think if EVERYONE would do something differently, or make a small sacrifice it would help the planet. I have planted close to 20 trees on my property,mostly pecans,and plan to plant more. This is just a small thing, but it might help a little.

  I don't agree. No one said the world would end. But it is getting worse and worse, eventually it is going to be really bad. And maybe eventually people will stop being dumb and selfish. When they realize that this cause is worth more then extra money in their pockets. We are doing it to ourselves. Honestly I think government and consumers need to change. Seriously this will affect everyone, even if you deny it. It's already affecting pretty much everyone, in different places, in different ways to be honest.

I don't think humanity wants to accept things are as bad as they are, nor are we responsible for it. So much damage happens out of the public eye and on the microscopic level where you may *not* necessarily see the visible effects until decades later. I'm just starting to see stuff that was warned about 20 years ago when I was a kid skeptics swore wouldn't happen.

The debate isnt whether or not climate change exists. The climate changes naturally regardless of pollution. The only question is how much are humans speeding it up with pollution. Im surprised if even 1% of scientists say it "doesnt exist". The sahara dessert was a forest as little as 10,000 years ago

    I got snapshots of all kinda articles of these crazy predictions from the early 2000s. I was really worried about climate change myself when I was younger because they told me in school and through the media I was basically living in armageddon. Im 32 now and I've looked into it quite abit. Their predictions did not come true and when you dig deeper you'll see that they dont really know how much we are speeding up climate change. If they did they wouldnt be wrong over and over.

      Some of those quotes don't make sense, I'm not sure if they are all real. I'm not a scientist but I can make sense of what I see. The first step to figuring something out is to admit that there is a problem and not acting like there isn't one. Our grandchildren will live with our choices.

        Ive attached some snapshots of articles I got those from. Im assuming you are young because when i was growing up these predictions were very popular on the news and in schools. This is why older people are not as worried as climate change and its usually younger people that are because they havent lived through all the predictions.
        
        If they know how much we are speeding up the process of climate change how come they are so wrong in every prediction?

        They were wrong about the time frame maybe, but the climate events are obviously getting worse every year. It's already bad, ask the people who have to ration water in California, or the people in Houston and New Orleans about hurricanes.
