Not sure about my course on my final year?

So I'm in the final year of my honours software development degree and I feel like I've taken a wrong path in life. I CAN program but I'm very bad at learning new techniques. It's looking like I might fail this year since two modules are going very badly for me. Surprisingly enough, my final year project is going great so far.
I feel really stressed when I can't figure out an assignment for college and there have been a few times where I have barely passed on incomplete assignments. I'm surprised I'm still in college even. I'm not motivated enough to dedicate all my time to the course and I tend to get by on what's necessary. My GPA has been about 50%. is it normal to feel this way in my final year?

I would say it is not only normal but common to feel that way on your final year of a course. I think you should do what you can to finish off your course given the time you have put in and then sit down and realistically look at your options.

I think a part of it may be that you have hit the plateau of learning to program. I am a computer programmer by trade and I felt there was a disheartening plateau in learning to program that I really had to struggle through before I found myself making progress and enjoying what I did.

All that aside, you may want to consider if you have become depressed as losing interest in previously held activities is a common sign of depression. Good luck.

I think this is true in a lot of other majors/professions as well. There's a point where you've kinda got it together but you're not quite there yet, and that's when a lot of people quit. That's the point I'm at right now with my art... it's good, people seem to really like it, but I still feel like it's lacking something. I plan to just keep pumping out the works until I get over that hump.

    It is normal.

I'd stick with it for a while. You haven't really experienced what it will be like as a professional programmer - if you've invested this much time into it, you will probably end up enjoying it after all. Finish that degree you've put so much work into.

    You may have senioritis.

I am not a senior, but I've been in school a while and during this while I have fell in and out of love with my major and have even considered other majors. There have been times when I felt I was wasting my time, but I sought reassurance (from professors) and I realized I couldn't let go of my one, true major.

Sounds normal. At least you're doing decent.
