Not understanding mathematics

When I was in high school, I was required to take both algebra and geometry which I did and was unable to understand either one. Did the work assigned, asked to stay after to get extra help even tutoring and I still do not understand either how algebra and geometry function at all. I use basic mathematics everyday and understand that very well but nothing else in the mathematical field. Is this normal to not understand either algebra or geometry at all?

    Dude, I'm the same way. I am seriously retarded at math. I can only do basic math. English, science, history, etc I'm good at and have excelled. Math makes me feel like something is really wrong with me.

    Some people are good some aren't. I do really good in some aspects of algebra, then completely fail at others. And geometry just blows. Plain and simple

    Me trying to do algebra is like a retard eating hot wings. Both look pretty fucking ridiculous.

    Ugh math. I'm the same as u. Even with after school help I barely passed high school math. I'm good at other subjects but not that one
