Oklahoma what do you really think?

I know this will probably get trolled to hell, but hopefully I can get some good insight on the place I call home. I'm kind of a nomad, I've lived in Mexico, Iceland, Slovakia, Kiribati, that's pronounced KEY RAH BAHS lol . I kinda like it here. I am originally from Mexico, my family came for a better life, so on so on, I joined the military when I was younger so I have been everywhere with them. Just want real thoughts, even if you have never been. All I ask is don't be hateful, or mean.

I will share 3
I will not 7
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Speaking from the perspective of a non American here. When I think of Oklahoma I think of the unfortunate event in 1993.

I'm sorry but that is the first that comes to mind when I think of Oklahoma.

No need to be sorry. That was tragic. And it shows the bad side of humanity. But what I can say is the state banded together and helped the families of the victims.

  • It's full of bigoted, ultra conservative, ultra "religious", anti-education, anti progressive fools! Wish I had left years ago! And don't dare be gay or lesbian!

It would seem like a nice place if it weren't for all of the tornadoes.

It seems that way lol it is not popular in the states though. We are kind of the state you do not think about until a tornado tears a city up.

I'm first to admit we Americans have an awful reputation. But the majority of us are loving kind people. We just have a shitty corrupt government and appalling foreign policy. We elect with our hearts and then get lied to and made to look like barbarians by our leaders. Oh yeah and our cultural exports just top notch lol sarcasm intended. And please don't judge us for the south. They tried to split off we should have just let it happen.

Parts of it yes. It's quite hilly in this part of the state and also in the south. The flat parts are beautiful when the wheat Is ready for harvest and the sun is slowly setting on it. I've never seen amber Waves of grain and it's a sight to see. It's also amazing to see the huge thunderstorms pop up on the plains and build in strength and intensity. Or watch a tornado march in the open nothingness. Although lately they seem to have their eyes on Moore. That city as a tornado curse.

It's a very underrated place. We do have insane storms and lots of earthquakes. But the people are really nice. I find quite a few people who say that Oklahomans are close minded rednecks. Totally not the case. I'm gay and no one has an issue. I live in Enid. After being almost everywhere in the world I am thinking of staying. And that hateful private message I recieved well wow I have no words. Why would you judge a whole state you have never been to. Allow me to re state just be nice and not hateful.
