Old shows were better for kids

Shows showed the better part of society. The Andy Griffith show for example Andy was the classic good guy and always made the best decisions. He was a cop but he was a member of the community before just a law enforcer. Was there even negative stuff in media back in the days? Now they have BET and MTV showing transgender stuff and weird music videos with women twerking and music about selling drugs and robbing people. It seems like the popular media now is kind of negative for kids to watch. Especially when they glamorize criminal and weird behavior.

Kids seem to look up to whoever is the popular/cool people. When the perceived cool guys are bragging about being criminals they move into that direction. Maybe it was just me but I definitely did until I grew out of it.

    Some of the kids' shows nowadays seem like they were made specifically for kids with ADHD. I've overheard my nephew watching tv a few times and the shows couldn't go five seconds without someone shouting for no reason or there being some kind of crash/explosion. It sounded moronic.

    I feel like they put in more effort before in actually telling a good story and making emotional impact. There may be some exceptions, but I feel many modern TV-shows for kids just assume kids will watch whatever. Besides that I actually tend to prefer cartoon over computer animated, feel kinda neutral about live action

    It's a generational shift. Things that you might have experienced from your youth are not the same as today's youth. Remember each generation is different in their own unique way, so what you described is a byproduct of today's cultural youth.

    Meanwhile, Andy is able to convince himself that the pharmacist and his assistant were conspiring to get Andy to marry the assistant, even though he is the one who asked her to the dance to begin with.

    I get what you mean, but I found your description of Andy Griffith humorous.

      I saw that episode. I guess I should never say "ALWAYS" with anything. Now that I think of it I should never say "NEVER" like I just did. Because there's always an exception. Or maybe not ALWAYS... you see im bad at this

      But for example he didnt abuse the town drunk. He was nice to the community. He understood people. He didnt try to bully people or show off. He was the "classic good citizen". He was a fair guy. A good person to look up to. If my son ended up like him id say job well done.
