Over eating?

So I am not a big boy by any shot, I probably lost weight recently so let's guess I am 150 now, and about 5'11". If I stand up straight I am pretty thoracic (my ribs really stick out along with my hips, about a 30 waist), my body fat is at 13% now unfortunately as I can't walk to well these days so cardio is hard to do (torn muscle in my leg, clean cut), 63% muscle density.

I consume per day* (karma too low to post atm):

1 Whole chicken 3.5-4 lbs of meat.
1 Banana
1 Cup of orange juiceg
1 Yogurt (the small ones)
1 Can of garbanzo or mixed beans
2 Cups of peanuts
2 Cups of veggies (I rotate what I buy week to week)
2 Pickles
750 ML Chocolate Milk
3-4 liters of water

What you think is it a normal level of consumption?

How's your pooping? Something tells me that produces a big log.

    • It really does, I've been surprised to look at the scale before eating, after, and then after poop. Sometimes I see fluctuations up 5-8 to pounds depending on how much I ate.

That list of food is meaningless unless you state the period of time over which you consume it: is it one meal or per day, per week, per month or per year????

Do not eat the same thing every day. That's terrible for you.

The way normal people eat, you spread your nutritional needs over various foods, you get a little of this vitamin there, this protein here.

It's really hard to craft a nutritionally perfect set of meals that meets your requirements, and even if if did, you wouldn't want to eat the same thing all day, every day. It's best to eat a large variety of healthy foods.

I know, vitamins and supplements are a thing, but there's a lot of vitamins that can't be absorbed without the proper foods, vitamins and minerals that are better absorbed in conjunction with one another, etcetera.

Variety in your diet is important, plus food is just better when you have that. : )

        • That is true to a certain degree, however I usually rotate my vegetable intake. Sometimes the fruit/juice as well. Chicken here is 210$ for 30 whole chickens so is affordable for me. I usually make wraps out of it during the day to fill me up more or add cans of beans. Normally it'd just cost way too much to have diversity, so I stick to certain item groups.

It's cheapest to buy fruits and veggies in season, and farmers markets are always cheaper than grocery stores.

You're eating way too much protein, way above your daily recommended value. Nuts are a good source, but not if they're salted and covered in oil. Do you eat raw nuts?

And what kind of milk? Skim?

Idk- it's hard to judge your diet because you don't elaborate on everything you eat.

And juice is bad too- it's just fruit sugars without the benefit of fiber.

            • Thanks for the reply, and farmer market usually has better product!

I've been increasing my protein intake as I wish to gain weight, is just a struggle to do so. Yeah raw, unsalted.

              Partially skimmed milk.

Yeah and I try compensate the lack of fiber with the beans.

Only have 400 for groceries a month, so is hard to balance it out with the amount I eat. Someone on here said I will become obese this way, but I actually lose weight if I eat any less. This just helps keep me at my 150 I fought to work up to.
