Pbs sucks lately

I'm not watching PBS for Antiques Roadshow or British dramas or kid's content, I'm watching stuff like NOVA and Frontline that used to be top-tier science and investagive journalism.

I'm aware that PBS always had a slant and that the audience tends to be the more artsy crowd but they've just gone from occasionally mentioning one of these themes to always having to mention these themes to now where they have nothing but shows about them.

Any social-studies based content is bound to be about racism and the typical narratives we all know with the same old victim/oppressor dynamics and any science based content will be about climate change and shaming me for living my normal life.

Even This Old House is all about "green" construction that doubles or triples the price of an already unobtainable project building a mansion in Newport for some rich asshole while kissing their ass the whole time for being sooo eco-friendly.

I'm just about done with PBS, I used to look forward to Wednesday night, there'd be some animal planet content and then NOVA with some cool cosmology or something and then Frontline where they expose real injustice in the system.

Now it's all narrative trash. Too bad.

    Haven't watched PBS since I was little. I used to really like Animal Planet, too.

    From this thread, it sounds like they're both in the crapper. :c
    What are kids supposed to watch now?

    The only thing I ever watch on PBS is Nature. Everything else seems like it has a left leaning agenda.

      It always did. I defy you to watch Nature without it being the plight of some animals disrupted by climate change.

      I get it, it's a problem and but it's just ALL they do anymore.

    It's PBS so they have some nature content. Lately though they always have to work in some climate change content to keep me ashamed while I watch bunnies cavort or whatever.

    The decline of cable into nonstop trash is a whole other subject but that's just a lowest-common-denominator cash grab where PBS is getting to be a propaganda platform
