Pc gaming help please!

Hi, I recently bought a GTA San Andreas game for my pc. I have a Windows XP Desktop, and when I put in the disc it wont do anything. I've tried starting it through "my computer" and even that wouldn't work.

I tried the same disc on my windows 7 laptop and it works. If you know anything I can do to make it work for my desktop that would be great!

Thank you.

I'll comment. 6

No, it will work on xp. I have played this for years on xp, then vista.... now win 7.....

Your CD drive.... have u tried anything else in it? Maybe its bad.

Hit me back if u dont get it to work, and I will try to help you.

When u do get it to work, u have to install the multiplayer, and come play in the crazy bobs server.... up to 125 ppl, and it's cops and robbers mode, so u can like rob the bank, and cops (other ppl playing online) will chase u in helicopters bikes, etc..... very very very cool. Let me know, im serious I will help u. I have been modding that game for years. I just have not heard of this specific issue. I would try to load another game u know works first.... then try reformat.... i know... drastic, but any measure is worth that game .... a little old, but EPIC, especially the multiplayer. Let me know. - BadManAlive

    • I know that game worth it! I've played it on PS 2 until PS 2 fucked up on me.

As for the problem, I have tried a DVD player on the cd thing, and it worked. But my game still wont work.

I can guess at what the problem is, if you go to device manager and click on your dvd player it should come up with 2 seperate devices, a cd one and a dvd one, im guessing that one of these might be missing.
