People think i'm boring....

Ever since primary school I've been a bookworm, I don't know anyone who reads as much as I do. That is what I'm asking about, my legs are weak so I've never had many really active, sporty hobbies. Everyone talks about their hobbies but every time I talk about books that I've read or liked or hated and so on, they tell me things like "Why would you want to read so much?" or "How boring!" and every time I bring a funny book into college and laugh at it, people give me weird looks, the people I know at college aren't big readers you see. I never read willingly at college anymore and I really hate it cause I enjoy reading so much, but I don't want to be judged...

Is it normal I read so much?

Everyone has their own hobbies!! Don't be afraid to do something as simple ad reading a book. If you want to read, read! If people are going to judge you, thy must seriously be unhappy with themselves.

Yeah, I'm the same way. To me, people can think what they want. As long as you know who you really are, you should be fine. You will also have real friends if you be yourself!

Don't listen to what people say. Being well-read makes life easier. Nearly everything you need to survive life is in the pages of a book somewhere. But you do need to take the time to have that life too.

  • If you are boring you will be left alone..to read more books.when you get time you could start a book club, then you can chat about books to your hearts content

  • Everyone's judged; even the most popular (especially) are judged. So be yourself and don't look back. You won't regret it.

To the rest: Try an outreach of some kind to find other book worms. They have to be out there.

*yawn* OOPS im sorry...u were saying?

ha jk OP well i suppose that you cannot control someones perception of you. from personal experience i kno this to b true. HOWEVER keep in mind, that if, say, 1000 people think you are boring, then its not just their perception, odds are, from basic probability, that you ARE boring. 1000 ppl cannot be wrong!

whoa, wait disabled sports? are you in a wheelchair? 0.o
If it motivates you to spice things up, i once heard ultimate nerd Stephen Hawking do a remmix of a tetro techno song. It was pretty groovy.

I also get the slightest feeling that...sigh..yes, u might be a little...well...plain. like when u said play guitar matybe its how u said it, well, it didnt sound interesting.

I have an idea. Lets see how your kinky potential is. right now, tell me. WHAT ARE YOU WEARING;)

EWell, are you boring? i mean, when you are explaining what you are reading, your disposition in general, how is it? if you use a monotone voice and dont look ppl in the eye or be enthusiatic or passionate about said books, then ppl will get bored

i dont like books much however one of my coworkeers is a major bookworm and she makes whatever she is reading..well/..interesting...like i want to read that book now..

anyway, do wat u like OP but also dont bury your head too much in your books, living under a rock...hey do something different once in a while, spice things up a bit

i don't really talk about books much, but if the conversation turns to what i'm interested in, i don't see the point in lying. i don't want THEM to be interested if they don't want to be but if they ask me what i like to do in my spare time or about my interests i can't help it if that's what they think about me.
I do try to spice up my life, there's not much i can do. but i try to do disabled sports as much as i can, and i do graphic design and play guitar. i guess people just don't like me in general lol

Do not change who you are there is someone out there who Diggs a gal/guy like you. Like seriously, If anyone encourages people to change, that means that, they themselves have had the same problem and think that they had change themselves too to make someone accept them, what happens when the guy/girl figures out that that's not the real you? Be yourself, you will find someone.
