Apple is bullshit. They say it can't get viruses but hey only idiots get viruses on Windows. Apple is preloaded with a lot of DRM in the OS. If you want to be in control of your computer and not have your computer control you Windows or Linux is the way to go. I use Linux on my laptop and Windows on my desktop. Windows is a must for gamers.

Linux is my favorite. Runs on everything, it's extremely versatile, and you can do everything Windows and Mac can do without the viruses.

Just to make it clear. Mac don't provide better security than other PCs. In fact i would say PCs are better secured.

You know why mac are seem to be more secure? Cause hackers don't give a fck about their 2 users. If Mac get a big share of market, they will be swarmed with viruses and hackers, and Apple being the nab that it is on the subject will have a hard time dealing with the angry(and misinformed)consumers.

    • The word "security" can mean secure against threats or secure for a lack of them. I prefer the latter.

Both Apple and Microsoft are PC's.

I think a better question would be "What operating system."

    • PC stands for “personal computer,” but has become interchangeable / synonymous with “Computer that comes with Microsoft Windows.”

I have a PC. I have never had a virus in my life. I keep up to date with virus software and I don't download stuff from shady websites.

Many people think they get viruses when really it's something else, often hardware problems.

PC. I've got a beastly 12GB RAM PC which would cost the same as a 3GB RAM Mac. My PC can also do every a Mac can do quite frankly. Mac's are compatible with as much as a PC.

I'm typing on a MacBook. I don't know... I like the build quality and ease of use. It also has a nice screen, unibody design and a great keyboard with an epic trackpad. Then again, it's kinda sluggish and higher priced than average. I would say OSX is the best, Windows 7 is very good, Linux is okay, but WHATEVER YOU DO; NEVER (and I mean NEVER) use Ubuntu on a Mac. I messed up my OS and I temporarily used Ubuntu. Damn that was awful. A lot of the problems were from the trackpad, but still, awful. Probably better on PC but still. I'd go with a Mac.

mbp with parallels running ubuntu 10.10 and windows 7. game over. nothing beats the quality of a mac. The design, the feel, the battery life, the insane trackpad. I will never go back to pc. I hate iphones and ipads though. So im 50/50 on apple but still think they make one helluva computer.

  • Bootcamp is an option if you want to load PC software onto a HDD located in your Mac console or laptop. However, I am not comfortable with the unequal security standards of the two platforms and I prefer not to partition space on my Mac to run PC programs. I keep PC software on a PC dedicated system and Mac software on a Mac dedicated system. But, that's just me. :oP

Additionally, my PC is pretty safe as I have Malwarebytes, Microsoft Security Essentials, and some other software measures installed on this system.

    FYI:

Visit "Shields Up" to check your computer's security setting.

Buy a Toshiba then, Dells are garbage. (Sonys and higher end Hp's are good too, but the Toshi is very durable (the screens a little less so though).

Mac is so pretentious. Ipad 2 shows they love exploiting their customer base. <3 Keep it up, Apple. :D
