Fly to Africa, catch one, then fly back home.

I want a penguin for a pet. Id just take it to parks and let it slide down slides and shit. Feed it ice cream or fish. Put a tuque on it in winter. Let it swim in my neighbors swimming pool then run and scoot Chilly over the fence when he finds out.

Im for your hyena idea sir.

If you somehow manage to then get a male, they're submissive. A female will actively try to bite your junk off to show dominance. I wish I was joking O.o

    serch african fiting dog\ hyena.
every year 2000 fiting hyenas get mauled by their "pets" many others killed.
putting aside the fact that they are not domesticated animals but wild ones that belong in the wild. have you thought about:

    - where are you going to keep your beast, keeping it in a cage all day isn't humane.
-vet bills, your beast can't go to a local vet, he will have too go to a specialist.
-food bills. broun and srtiped hyenas eat around 25-30 pounds of meat a day, spotted hyenas a good 40 pounds.
the aardwolf it may be the smallest but has the tricky diet of about 200,000 termites during a single night.
    - now the striped and broun, are solitary so they will not bond to anyone, they are known to be friscky and un tamable. the spotted is a pack animal, but it is a highly agressive predator and has the stongest bite force of any mammal.
-do you have dog experience? well, forget it because hyenas are more closely related to cats and aside frome the fact that any cat owner will tell you that they are indipendent and strong minded compared to dogs and don't have an instinct to please. a hyena is different again, I don't have personal experience with them but i do with cheeaters (zoo voluntary work)but I know hyenas to be hard to manage. (they are quite intelligent)
-the potential law-suit you may have in the event your animal escapes.
-I don't know where you live but must european countryes consider them illegal as pets.also most american states.
    - you can't put him in your local doggy hotel when you go on holliday, and challeng you to find a friend to look after you're 89—121 lb pet.
think though your decision. because if you regret buying the animal you will have a hard time reselling it.(I've heard about unwanted big cats getting put down just because now one could take care of them.

I think you'd need to move to Nigeria. So I guess it all depends how much you want one, doesn't it?

  • Work at a zoo first. That way you'll actually know how to handle one.

I really want a hyena for pet too, I read a lot of documentation about hyenas, I went to local zoo owning hyenas so I could see it face to face.
I have a huge burning inclination for several years now, about getting my own hyena...
Please, .... Please... how could I get a hyeana pupy...

Well ok first off you are insane.
Secondly you're a complete idiots for wanting to own such a dangerous animal and not knowing anything about raising one.

Third its most likely illegal. Fourth their is so many possible issues with this like you might get arrested if it runs out and kills someones child, someones cat, someones dog, someones life stock.

At which point your animal will be captured by animal control, labeled a dangerous animal and put down. ALL BECAUSE YOU WANTED TO GO OUT ON A WIM AND OWN A BLOODY HYENA. Oh and too top it off you will be arrested for having an illegal pet and letting it murder all these creatures and people.

How fucking old are you 4? The site says 18+. Use your brain! Before you get innocent bystanders and innocent animals killed you IDIOT!

Actually, you can own one. My folks did. Beautiful animal, and highly intelligent. The males, though still dangerous, are nowhere near as dangerous as the females. The hyenas have a Matriarchal society. That is to say, the females are at the top, males at the bottom. Even the most highly ranked male is lower than the lowest ranked female. And rank is inherent. If the top ranking female has a child, the child is of a higher rank. Obviously, a female child holds higher rank than a male child, and is next in line to be the lead female. All this being said, rank can change. If a female overthrows the top female, she can become the top female. You may read this and think it's not important, but all of this and more should be known prior to owning one. I have two pieces of advice. Do your research, and if you can, get a hyena pup. The pups feed off their mothers milk for a year or two. This milk, due to its heavy fatty content, can be substituted with a mixture of cream, milk, and egg yolk. Best of luck to all.

Your gramatical errors male you sound like a complete dumbass. Maybe instead of spending your time bashing others with sentences that vaguely resemble English, you could go back to elementary school :)

I really don't think that's a good idea, Hyenas are wild animals that live in packs and stay well out of man's way. It will be very sad to be kept in captivity....That's no way for a Hyena!
Just get a spotty dog with big ears LOL.
