Pick one

I was just having a conversation with a friend regarding the afterlife. What if when we die we are given 2 options.

The first option is to move on to a higher consciousness. In this afterlife we will never see anyone we knew from this life again, but we will know everything. Many other details of this fate remain unknown.

The second option is that we will repeat the life we just lived. This time may be a bit different from the last and you will not remember all the details, but you will be born as the same person with the same parents.

Do you choose to move on, or repeat your life.

Personally I feel like I have done this life millions of times and I will probably keep doing it because I do not feel done yet, but I will save that discussion for my next post.

I'll pick option two. I want to be around the people I love.
But what if my parents pick option one? Then what? Would I live a completely different life? Lol

    • What others choose wouldnt impact your reality in this scenario because the sequence of lifetimes is beyond the human concept of time. We are each in our own multiverse and if they choose to move on, their imprint within our lifetimes still remain.

Then I'll just go with option one.

Repeat the life I had. Preferably with the knowledge I have picked up from my last life.

What's the point of being some floaty energy-thing that knows everything, if I can't share any of that knowledge with everyone else... What's the point of such a life, if I can't sit down and drink a round of beers with my mates? Being a higher being, I won't need basic human things.

It will be a sad and lonely life of floating about and exclaiming to myself "I know everything. I am so clever"

Well put my friend. What the fuck would i do with all these infinite knowledge.I'd much prefer to come back and be with my family and friends.

    • Thats why I would want to live in an infinate loop. Life has its ups and downs but its good enough for me and I like the people I already know too.

I don't want either. I don't understand why the idea of life after death is so appealing to people. I don't want to live forever in any form. When I am done with this life eternal rest sounds pretty great to me. Don't wake me up.

Hmmm...if you feel like you are on repeat, that suggests, to me, that you haven't learned a crucial life lesson required to level up, so to speak. What has you stuck?

  • I'd rather have infinite knowledge.

I have a 7 in penis and you can suck it. Cut too!

Infinite knowledge sounds appealing (and scary!), but very lonely in this scenario. I'd like to repeat life, but only if I could remember everything of my past life!

Interestingly enough, near-death survivors often describe the afterlife as experiencing all-understanding (infinite knowledge?) and pure love, AND they encountered loved ones who've died. They experienced both options!

The whole concept of an after life intrigues yet terrifies me.

And just as many others say absolutely nothing happened

Um... if you keep repeating life, eventually you will have infinite knowledge anyway.

    • Not true. You would only know what you can possibly know within your life. Also like I said, many memories would be lost but remain in your subconsciousness.

For example I would be reborn in 1984. It is unlikely I would ever live past 2100 and would not have knowledge of past that, nor would I know anything I cannot learn within that amount of time.
