Playing games with unnecessary actions

I'm a teenager, and the whole of my life I have had a habit which has had detrimental consequences on my social life. I will now explain.

If I'm playing a game I really enjoy, I get extremely excited and start playing with my hands i.e. clasping them together and wiggling my fingers. It's not just games, if i have a happy thought i will do the same thing. If i do this for a prolonged period of time, then i become flustered like i'm extremely embarrassed.

Is this normal?

I love chess even though I may be a novice but I still know how to play!

Some people just gesture more than others. It'll probably "calm" down as you get older.
