Yes it did.
Unless members of my family and millions of others gassed themselves, the holocaust happened.

Yes. "The Holocaust" did happen. This usually refers to the mass murder of Jews in the Nazi death camps near the end of World War 2. There are serious arguments about the precise how of how it all took place, but it is real. There are, however, other "holocausts" that happened in the 20th century. The Ukrainian Holocaust, over 7 million murdered by the Communists. The Arminian Holocaust, over 15 million murdered in Turkey. So the Holocaust is real, but so are many other holocausts that people often ignore.
