The number one mistake is not planning it far enough ahead. I dont think I can improv a murder and get away with it.

Detective wasnt a job listed. I know detectives are cops but unless it was stated otherwise I just assumed they would just be as general as the criminal description.

I'm not smart enough to outwit a full team tracking my ass down. I am however smart enough to stack the odds in my favor by hiding/shifting the blame.

95% of all murder suspects that were convicted was the first suspect. Which is generally the person with the closest relation and motive. Murdering someone with a lesser connection to yourself and having a fall guy having a more reasonable relation to the victim is a more believable circumstance.

Not finding the body is the optimal circumstance. The second alternative is a fall guy in the perfect circumstances. If those two conditions cannot be done in a reasonable manner I dont follow through.

I would of became a cop if they pay to risk ratio wasnt so shitty. Same for being a criminal.

PI seems cool. I just lack the general charisma stats to make it work irl.

I'm here and ready to rock! Gimme the details.
What's the job? Where? When? How many people? Cargo weight... etc.

So we know what kind of vehicle, drivetrain, seats, options, modifications and others we need.

Who said I'd use my cars... I'm gonna source a getaway car.

Worst getaway car would be my old BMW. It may start, or it may not. Cause one of the 100 relays made in Spain might have gone bad XD

If I could go back to 90s Bulgaria - crime.

Racketeering, loan sharking and the staple of Bulgarian mafia businesses - auto insurance. If you don't sign with us, something bad might happen to your vehicle. Or it may just get stolen.
Maybe have an auto business on the side - stolen premium cars from West Europe, cars are brought in by contractors, we pay cash, slap a new VIN, new papers, the works and sell in East Europe, or ship to Russia. Russians used to pay crazy money for stolen luxury cars.

A lot of people made a lot of money that way and roam the streets free today. None were caught. None were sentenced to jail. All are now legitimate businessmen and managers of (sometimes international) companies.

If it's about making this choice today - I'd rather be on the right side of the law.

PI. I am so boring and dull as dishwater, nobody ever takes notice of me. I could stand around in makeup and size 20 shoes while honking my nose at people and they'd probably fail to notice.

i'd say murderer but in real life honestly i feel like i'd be too lazy to take all the steps in properly disposing of the body, making sure no evidence is left at the crime scene, etc. plus i don't really have anyone i want to kill so probably investigator

You can murder and clean up in a budget way. All depends on 3 things. Location, location, location. The more populated the area of the murder the more expensive/risky it is to dispose of evidence.

Doesnt take a rocket scientist to know dumping a body in the forest is safer than dumping the body in a city with cameras and people. Then again you can always make it look like a burglary gone dark (no witnesses from the get go) just depends how one goes about it.

Honestly when it comes to murder it's either a 100% body disposal or a super obvious placement of the body with a reasonable motive of reason the crime that took place. Just got to play into the minds of an average detective.

It's not TV the obvious answer is almost always the obvious solution. Only 55% of murders are solved and the grand majority was obvious cases of X person hates Y person and killed them/ evidence was found and linked to person X. Its rarely A person kills Z person for weird reasons.
