Problem with a girl

so, a while ago i met with this girl, and she gave me her phone number. She lives in another city, and so i asked her if she wanted me to come by her city to see her. But, when i try to set a date with her she ignores me(she doesn't respond to me). But, when i talk with her about useless and stupid stuff, she answer immediately. Also, she said that she WANTS me to come by her city, but again, i try to ask her on that and she just vanish and doesn't respond to me. Is this situation normal?

        You should back off big time. You are coming off as desperate to her and if shes on the fence about dating you if you're too eager it will push her awau

      i work in a shop with my mother, and this girl came in. We started talking and i thought we were cool, so i asked her for her number and she gave it too me.
