Rainbow-capitalism hypocrisy

Notice how no company changes their logo into a pride flag in the middle east? " We believe in equal treatment of homosexuals, bisexuals, etc, unless you're from the middle-east. "

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

From my understanding, most of the LGBT crowd doesn't even like the corporate capitalization of the stuff. It's really only the FAR left that gives a damn about it.

I'm bisexual and a lot of the pride stuff these corporations do every June is nothing more than patronizing, pandering, bullshit. As a female Hispanic I also kinda feel that way when they carry merch around Women's History month and Hispanic Heritage month. These companies don't care about any specific color, gender, sexuality, or culture. The only thing they care about is the almighty dollar. XD

What's your perspective on adding in extra letters to the lgbt abbreviation?

While I'm not apart of said community I recognize the rights of at least the LGB part of the equation.

Honestly, beyond LGB, some aren't even sexualities and some just seem a bit made up or confusing for me.

I'll recognize a person as transgender and I'll use their pronouns if they're actually serious and stick to one gender instead of switching back and forth like it's a phase.

I'll recognize asexual since that one doesn't seem entirely impossible either. I know two perfectly functioning asexual people that I occasionally hang out with. They work, pay bills, and date like the rest of us. They just have no interest in sex.

Things like Aromantic, nonbinary, genderqueer, gender fluid, pansexual, graysexual, etc I won't recognize. Also I don't get why polyamorous is recognized in the community now. How did THAT get in there?

On another note, I really don't like the progressive pride flag. It looks like they stuck the trans flag to a normal looking rainbow using feces for an adhesive. XD

But I dont understand why they had to lump unrelated sexual orientations together. Pan is literally the same as bi. I dont think you are thrown out of restaurants for being asexual etc. Its getting too difficult to figure out what the hell they want.

At this point lgbt+ is every motherfucker that ain't straight club/political party

Its bigger than the almighty dollar because believe it or not this woke bullshit is not even popular to the majority nor is it profitable. Look at what theyre pushing om netflix and disney, also twitter, and facebook, and all these people have been losing money. Youtube pushes liberal bs and censors ppl even tho their base is majority conservative male. CNNs ratings are in the crapper. Why kick off and scare away your customers? This shit isnt just about the dollar. Because its not raking in the dollars.

Multinational corporations are beholden to their shareholders and will pander where and when it is deemed appropriate. I wouldn't take too much judgement of morality from them. It is disengenuous as you stated, as different cultures have radically different values. Accept it and your 401k improving, but do try and support local businesses that suport your individual values.

As someone who maybe LGBT (who knows), this is what I think:
It's a large way for companies to be like "hey, we like LGBT people", when in reality they don't give two shits.
They're a company, all they see are dollar signs.
