i love RANGE ROVER {SUV} , but i heard RANGE ROVERS spend there entire life in workshops.
There is a RUSSIAN QUOTATION saying :

Lots of high priced plastic parts on them. If you've got deep pockets, go for it. Toyotas and Hondas are overall gonna be most dependable.

Hey, no problem. If American classics were more affordable here, I'd love me a classic Boss Mustang, a '55 Bel Air and a '59 Plymouth Fury.
I do plan on buying that last one at some point. It's my next dream car, but with corona still raging, it may be quite a while before that dream car becomes a reality.
With that said, I love 50s and 60s American cars. The stuff in the 70s, 80s and 90s just looks and probably feels cheap. Cheap and generic plastics, bad styling, especially blob cars. For example - Fox body Mustang. Easy to tune, can be an absolute monster, but the dimensions are wrong... In my mind short and stubby is not how an American car should be.
It's gotta have style, flare, lots of chrome, massive rear overhang, as sleek and sexy as Pamela Hensley.
It's gotta make you go "WOW!", instead of "Oh..."
The original Range Rovers were extremely reliable, easily fixed with basic tools, and virtually indestructible. They were the standard vehicle for expeditions all over the world. They did not have many creature comforts though... Many of them are still operational in Africa and other places.
The modern "automobized" Luxury Range Rovers are not the Range Rovers of decades ago. Yes, they spend a lot of time in the shop compared to their predecessors.
I've been going through a phase of watching a lot of dashcam videos of idiots doing really stupid shit.
One thing that has struck me is how often I've seen Range Rovers and similar high-bodied SUV vehicles tip over on their side or even roll completely with very little provocation. My clear impression is that the centre of gravity of such vehicles is much higher than that of cars and even pickups, so even a side-slide into a normal curb at relatively low speeds can be enough to topple them over. Also, people in SUVs seem to often have a sense of invulnerability simply because of the size of the vehicle. That leads them to do stupid, risky shit, and then they suddenly discover that they were deluded.
Get a Cadillac Escalade so you can show everyone that you're living large, and rolling phat!

Pfft! Get a Land Rover Discovery instead. They're cheaper, for one thing. When I was a kid my parents bought an old Land Rover second hand - lots of mileage, stank of dog. We did off-roading in all weathers in it, on week-long road trips across Europe towing caravans and boats and it never let us down... until it did. On the way home from Spain. Ohh, the vitriol...
