Red dye make my kidneys hurt?

OK so I've been getting dull pain on and off in my kidney area, I'm not sure but I think I see a correlation to ingesting red dye. I live in the US so all the bad dyes are still allowed in everything. Is it possible, there are not many studies on this and even if there were, they would probably lie.

So unless you have medical insurance you can't get medical treatment anywhere no matter what? If that's true you're living in the wrong country my friend

    • Technically they can't refuse to treat you at the emergency room but they will just bill you thousands of dollars later.
If you have insurance you just past a small fee like $20 but not having it would cost about $100 and up front. Though I may have to go anyway cause I feel like crap.

That's a terrible system: are you in the US? What happens if you don't pay and really can't pay?

        • Yes. You just keep accruing debt and it messes up your credit. I don't think they can add interest to medical bills at least. I just switched jobs and I don't qualify for their insurance.
My mom said she would help me out this morning so I'm going to a clinic. thnx though!

Oh that's good, I hope you get some answers and appropriate treatment.

So those stories about people in the US becoming homeless or bankrupt because of medical bills aren't exaggerated?

            • Definitely bankrupt! I know a few people who lost their home cause of cancer treatments.
And there are a lot of mentally I'll homeless and vets who probably got messed up killing folks in the military. :(

How can you be so sure it's related to that? Of course it's possible, but there are so many other variables

        • I want to but I don't have insurance. I get dull pain mostly at night, but last few days did not have anything with red dye so maybe its something else. I feel its food allergy related cause I have a lot of food allergies.

I just love people who self diagnose. They are surely the best and brightest of mankind.

Perhaps you should try ingesting blue dye instead?

    • I don't think blue bothers me. Just red and tomatos.
