My friend was on disability. When he reached retirement age, they just switched it from disability benefits to retirement benefits in name only. No increase or decrease in benefits. And SSA will probably inform you with a letter.
SS switches you automatically at your retirement age. That would typically be age 65 or above.
Probably something to talk about with to the people handling these things.
Lucky. I will never see social security dispite paying into it.
We should just rip that bandaid off.
Grandfather anyone 50+ into it. And the rest of us can be free of that burden.
