Rehome him? or am i being too intolerant?

I have had my cat since he was born, for almost 4 years now. In the past year he has become very annoying though and I am constantly fantasizing about getting rid of him. Then I feel bad because I watched him be born and he has been with me all his life.

I don't know what happened but around 1 year ago he started doing annoying things like digging in the litter for a really long time, getting into people food (like licking my dinner!) and he is always either in the way, somewhere he is not supposed to be or nowhere to be found. I don't really want him here anymore but I don't want anything bad to happen to him. Part of me thinks I am being too harsh and intolerant. What do I do?

deal with his annoyances 21

Maybe he's bored. Does he have proper play places and toys and towers and stimulation and all that?

    • He has hiding places, toys, scratching posts and a cat friend. He is largely disinterested in that and mostly sleeps in non-cat designations and begs for or steals food when he is not asleep.

Are you going to be outwitted by a feline?

        • Yes? I refuse to work on Thanksgiving, which I am sure he is using against me. OK federal gov cat, let's go! I am going to earn less than poverty this year and please take it easy on my taxes! My refund might disturb me! I might actually get an inground pool this year!

If you don't want an animal you should make sure it goes to a good home.
However you obviously have love for the animal if a cat licked of my plate on the table id push it off, it would soon learn maybe you haven't given it any ground rules so now it thinks it can do what it wants like lick people's plates.

My cat runs away from me sometimes and I hate it. He just keeps running and running but I wouldn't trade him for anything. I love him. :D
