Religion is a moral excuse

Religion is not the only moral excuse, vegetarianism, fruitarianism, and other secular things are morally an excuse. By pretending to be better behaved is the simplistic behaviour of acting religious by placing the present time above yourself what you used to be (placing yourself above your usual self). You tell mummy you didn't do it because you invented your own religion, so you must be good, then mum tells you you're good so now she thinks being a priest is good. And she questions you and you show no proof that you did it so you truthfully say "if I did it it would be unholy, thou shalt not do it". Yes, religion is a moral excuse, especially an invented religion (to know about invented religion as a moral excuse, read Jesus making excuses to do a religion no one followed when he made excuses). It only exists to appear good to your mummy, it's there to get attention.

I'm not sure if your sentences don't make sense or your point doesn't make sense. Either way, your post makes no sense and I disagree with it. You seem to believe that everyone only acts in self-interest all the time, or to please someone else in return for their praise (in effect, still self-interest), which I don't think is true.

I don't do anything I perceive as moral to please anyone else. I am vegetarian because I believe it is immoral to kill animals for food (you're free to disagree, that's just my opinion. I'm not forcing it on anyone else), not to make someone else like me! I detest the attention it gets me; I don't act how I perceive to be moral BECAUSE I get attention but DESPITE the attention I get.

    • Well I never ever thought everyone acts on self-interest, I simply developed my own philosophy because selfless people tend to run in front of a bus when I could be proud of the body of myself.

I clicked on this thinking that I'd see a good argument to start an intellectual discussion about. But this is kind of stupid, your style of writing makes no sense and your poll options are about as lame as the run on sentence-filled paragraph above them...

Instead, I saw yet another reason why I need to get off the computer and prepare for my final already.

    • A final what? Religious people act so cute like they're good because a religion said so, when an atheist man child would give them science for such an excuse to unbless people and call it a blessing. :)

        A final exam.
I have read your other posts on this topic. I deal with schizophrenics at work and often they have a speech disorder in which they string together sentences that sound like they should make sense but they don't. Your style of speech is reminding me of the way that they speak. However I don't know whether schizophrenics can type or anything like this so maybe English is just your second language.

I know you're trying to bash religion, this much I have gathered. However, your point and argument in general is... nothing you are saying makes any sense, it's almost as if you're babbling. But in text. Please have someone proofread your argument and try posting again.

You could argue that all morals are invented and serve as an excuse for your own percieved self interest. Or is it what you think other people think you think.

    • I never made a claim to other people's thinking, I was being very selfish in a way that demand for caring for things not yourself is not love for oneself.

Religion is nothing more than a fragment if one's imagination.
When humans are too stupid to understand something or how was it created - they say that "God" created it.
"God" is about as real as a science fiction story in a book.
For some there is no hope, so they turn to religion and believe in something that is not there, when something positive happens in their life they call it an act of god, when it was nothing more than a random occurrence or the placebo effect.

I think it's more of a source of false hope/comfort than a moral excuse

you're confused if you think being religious is about looking good/innocent.
maybe if you took the time to fully understand it you'd be religious yourself? you never know.

    • It's a moral excuse to escape your wrongdoing and magically show it to your mother when in the future your wrongdoing will continue.

this is about the only part that makes since to me. i don't think most people want to be recidivist, we're just weak and make mistakes, and sometimes have to learn the same or similar lessons repeatedly. some people are inspired by believing in a religious figure, and if that helps them, then it is positive, even if the person they believe in doesn't exist in reality in the same way he exists in their mind.

    • It's an excuse to talk about Jesus's death and that he died for your sins to a 6 year old. We have this bullshit which is a mistake of church policy because they don't make children drink wine in church. I worry about the fact it's an excuse of "morality" because it affects the people who hate me because I dress like a person who loves money. Well for such cute people out there the word is out, and the only thing good about religion is that so many people believe it!

    fruitarianism?

    Comment Hidden ( show )
      -
    • Yeah, though it ain't a religion, fruitarianism is a moral excuse that every disgusting creature needs to be your pet. Well of all the gluttony of fruit from this stupid concept all I can say about religion is that it allows the fun of eating meat, not to mention that meat or plants are not "kosher" or sacred (except Kalt, which is fair to eat fish to keep you alive, which I developed to maintain healthy people). Yeah but that's not important, fruitarianism is not your parrish, I'm talking about moral excuses secular when I said religion ain't the only moral excuse!
