Repetition, redundancy and similarities bother me a lot!

When I'm reading ANYTHING, if the same term comes up more than once per 1000 words or less I get incredibly annoyed. (excluding very common/essential words, of course)

If an author says the same or a similar thing in 2 different, unrelated books or texts for no reason, I stop reading his work all together. For example, I used to enjoy Dean Koontz ages ago, but quit after I came across his second character who liked to 'chew asprin'.

Then we have redundancy.

One of the worst offenses I've ever seen was on here, someone stating, 'I self-educated myself'. If that's not a gem right there, I don't know what is!

is it normal to be so perturbed by such things?

Are you saying what I think you're saying? Because if that's what you mean I think I understand what you mean, do you know what I mean? Do you get what I'm saying??

Or boy. If you're not a raptor.

Funny post, it was humorous and enjoyable. I liked it. Well crafted and cleverly constructed!
