Responsibilities

I'm 32, always have been in control of my actions, following the rules, and taking care of my responsibilities. I'm at the point where I'm getting fed up with it all and just want to let loose and party all the fucking time because I feel like I've lost out on good times and have nothing really to show for it memory-wise. Is it normal that I just want to party all the damn time?

  • There are countless other ways to also enjoy life rather than getting sloppy drunk and going to "da club" or bar hopping. That is bottom of the barrel type stuff. That's just my opinion though.

    • My idea of parties also extends to house parties and bonfire parties with friends. So its not just the bars. I dont go to clubs because the music isnt really my type and I like to do other stuff while drinking and talking, like playing pool, or darts, or even horse shoes

    • I've always been the type to have control of myself when out drinking. The few times I have let go of the control I would get blackout drunk and be told later that I was the life of the party, so I dont regret it at all. I just have a hard time letting go of that control.

      • It's good to have self control. I like going to parties and talking to people and share each other stories. I like going to the karaoke bar regularly because I like to sing. Other than parties there is plenty of fun stuff to do.

I have a friend who is 37 and her kid is now old enough to sit home alone while she goes out and embarrasses herself with 23 year old boys with drinking problems. Oh, and she's a good drunk driver. It makes me nervous but she is an adult. Also, she no longer has time for friends like me and that makes me sad.

    • I have no kids, dont drink and drive, and always bring friends with me when I party. But I am attracted to younger women, no younger that 21, but thats mainly due to their youthfulness and the fact that most do like to have fun and party. I've been told Im kinda boring before, but the control issue is why, and hence why I go for younger women. They get me to finally let go of that control that I have to have over myself.

Sounds like a mid-life crisis to me. If you can afford it, take a leave of absence from work and go somewhere far from home and have some fun. If work won't let you go, then you are going to have to make a choice, but you really should just go.
I sincerely believe the greatest sin in life is to be on one's death bed and regret the things one didn't do. Much better to be poor and experienced than to be economically comfortable and bored.

It's your life, bro. Do whatever you want. That's the point, the way I see it.

I'm 28. Most of my friends are popping babies, but I spend my time right now playing video games. I wrote books in the past, I plan to write some in the future. But if I decide to play video games until I die, I won't feel bad about it.

Challenge the status quo and party out! :)

    Uhm, yeah?
If I had a dollar for every time I went to a bar or club and saw some 40+ year old(s) partying it up... Well I wouldn't have a whole lot because I rarely club or barhop but I'd have enough for a few drinks.
