Santa clause is a lie that needs to be put to an end!

Now I don't know about you, but I hate that society these days plant lies of joy into the minds of the young. I know that there once was a man named Chris who did give toys to children, but as for now, this lie has got to end. Less than 1/10th or the children on earth don't even receive christmas, let alone gifts. Some children are poor and their parents can't afford gifts so of course, they go into thinking that they were either bad or Santa doesn't even care for them. Then we got the snotty nosed, brats who get shit for no reason and then say "yay! Santa bought me a 360!," at only 10 years old. I don't know about you, but when I was a kid I never got that crap. Kids need to know the truth! is it normal that I believe this?

    You're over-thinking it.

Santa Claus and the practice of Christmas itself is a great boost to the economy. Hell, working a seasonal job which was made possible by the buying rush during the holidays made it possible for me to get my first car which enabled me to get a better job which is enabling me to go to college so I can get a career and not have to collect financial aid checks from the government paid for by your taxpayers and I can, instead, contribute more money back into the system.

It may be a loss for kids from poorer families but it is ensuring that my future children won't have to wake up on Christmas wondering why Santa didn't bring them any presents, which, in my buying of those presents, will, in turn, fuel the economy so another stupid, unskilled teenager like I was have the oppurtunity to economically advance. Merry Chri$tmas.

There ain't shit I can do for the kids in Africa. Every present you donate will likely be blown up with them by the shitty governments or terrorist factions that run their impoverished countries. I'm as compassionate as the next person, but we're in way over are heads in our involvement with those countries =/ And here is I... talking about over-thinking...

Tis all true but i think lying to kids is wrong. I will definitely tell my children the truth about santa. When they ask who the fat man in the red coat is.

That's fine with me, but I'd be careful with that if you plan on sending your children to school with other children.

If you're kids are walking around saying that "Santa Clause isn't real", you might have a real problem on your hands if they start telling other kids this. Parents are really touchy about keeping their child's "innocence" and "childhood" in tact.

I know i know i would make sure to warn them about that. Rather then lying to them.

How miserable can you get? A CHILD is different than an adult and should be allowed to indulge in fantasy.

Christmas, easter, etc, are all Jesus Christ's days!! they should be celebrated spiritually. But this nation is so dis-functional that they will praise a fat old man, instead of the man that took his life for everyones sins and for us to have everlasting life. What world it is today

I felt sooooo guilty about pulling the santa claus/tooth fairy b.s., that I told my son about it when he was 6 yrs. old. He said, " I thought that seemed pretty far-fetched !" LOL !! These lies are the beginning of attachment/trust issues; "hey, the people I trusted more than anyone in the world, and care for me, have been feeding me all these lies, wow, what's next?"

i agree and disagree because while it is a lie, it provides a way to get kids to behave.

Through ritualized beatings and other forms of control that instill total, unflinching discipline. I like your thinking.
