Scared of a choice

I have recently been given a rather difficult decision concerning my health. Both will result in me being disabled for the rest of my life, but one is certainly a more ideal outcome.

Unfortunately, the ideal outcome has a slightly lower success rate and is more expensive. It's also unfortunately outside of my insurance plan. However the alternative is scary and will be harder to deal with in the future.

I've avoided specifics, and I don't expect this to be used to help chose my decision. I'm just tired of thinking and wanted to write.

Of course, it means more effort, financially and probably in other aspects as well, but I would definitely choose the more ideal procedure. After all, you have to deal with it for the rest of your life, no matter how shitty it is.

But I can understand that this decision is haunting you.
How severe is the disability in both cases? Do you know?

Chose the path with the best chance of long term success... That maximizes your future earning and life potential.

Hope is the only thing stronger than fear....

What are your hopes and dreams for the future if you have the best choice option.

There are often several real ways to deal with financial issues in the future. As an example: Most countries have some form of bankruptcy laws - should it come to that.

I had a friend who had a terrible accident and lost the use of his legs and he had to make the same choices. He chose what could possibly bring the most positive outcome even if the chances were small. But it did not bring any of the outcome predicted and he continues to live. He is a paraplegic.
He met someone via FB and now they are married. From what he told me he cannot have sex but life's good.
Best of luck to you :)
