Scared of pool vacuums and pool drains?
I have a phobia of pool vacuums and pool drains.
But first a story. When I was 6-7 my brothers threw me into a cold pool near or on top of a pool vacuum and after 10 years I'm still scared of pools.

I've never had to fight off a pool vacuum and I really do enjoy swimming so I'm going with not normal.
And so you should be! Scores of children and even some adults die every year because the suction from the pool drain holds them underwater until they drown! And the hose from the vacuums accounts for a bunch more deaths as the hose wraps around the unwary victim's throat and drowns them, too. And the chlorine. Don't get me started on the chlorine they use in those swimming pools! You'd never pee in a pool again, if I told you about the chlorine.
Those damn things should be outlawed! Only swim in the ocean, where there are no dangers at all.
Apart from drowning, jellyfish, boats, sharks, stingrays, sea snakes, old fishing nets, massive waves, cyclones, lightning strikes, pirates, frigid waters, icebergs, medical waste, chemical spills, old depth charges from war, jagged rocks covered in sharp shellfish and the fact that if you sink, the lifeguards (good luck finding one out in the ocean) will have to swim down up to 11 kilometres underwater to save you, yes, the ocean is a very safe place.
