    It's a terrible way to go, but I don't think anybody will strangle you. If you're that scared, then you could try taking some martial arts classes and practice self defense.

    There is not a technical term for the fear of being strangled but the fear of choking or being smothered is called Pnigophobia or Pnigerophobia.
