Scratching?

Alright, so it appears I have yet another weird problem. My girlfriend left about 2 months and 12 days ago to go live and work in Japan for 1-5 years. I now officially live all the way on the other side of the world.

So the problem is I have begun to scratch myself. It appears it might be obsessive since I am now scratching myself until I have wounds. They are all up my arms and legs, chest. I thought well I will wear gloves, haha. It has not helped, now I have old man hands(all wrinkled and sweaty from being in the gloves). I also seem to be scratching myself in my sleep.

So is this normal? Has anyone else had this problem? I know it's weird but I cant be the only one.

anxiety. I had bed bugs and its long since passed, but I still have this intense paranoia about anything itchy or anything that feels like its moving on my skin. what a nightmare. get some xanax.

  • Aww, sounds like stress. Maybe your doctor could offer some help?

Did you go to the doctor? It could be something else that has nothing to do with stress, but it just happened to coincide with your girl leaving for Japan.

well the thing is we haven't broken up, but i mentioned her leaving as maybe the reason for the compulsion. To get a second opinion was more what I was looking for, like has anyone else had similar situations.
Joeaverage that was a very good bit of info i did not know, thank you for that

I had contact dermatitis as a kid and I had to wear gloves to bed too. Perhaps you are allergic to something? Laundry soap or something like that? It probably is the stress of losing your friend, but try taking a couple of Benadryl before bed, see if that helps.

its just stress from losing your girl, obviously cause you no the exact amount of time that passed since she left. get some help (no offense) and you will find yourself back to normal.
