Severe depression triggered by uncaring deli worker
I got home and found out the deli used the wrong bread for my sandwich. This sent me in a downward spiral and two weeks later I still haven't been able to go back to work.

Or you can send them a long detailed email if you're not into confrontation. Works for me.
You should talk to the deli worker and get some kind of a closure. I'm sure they didn't mean it, and maybe facing them can help you move on.
Sometimes life hits us hard when we least expect it.
Hopefully, you'll get better soon. Take care.
O.P.
If you're this weak.
Don't breed, please.
And don't go back to work either.
Just curl up in a ball and wait.

Do this in your nearest police station.
Sue them for psychological trauma and get a 50 million dollar compensation. Americans seem to be able to sue anyone for anything... Bet if I lived in the US, I could sue a pothole for spinal injury and then drink Chivas Regal 21 and eat red caviar for the rest of my life, courtesy of the United States justice system.
Dude, i feel you. Yknow i ordered a subway once and i got back a sandwich with the wrong cheese once. To this day i've constantly had my head in a noose and i haven't experienced sunlight in over 3 months. At least i think it was 3 months. Who knows
Wrong bread on a sandwich? Have the deli worker arrested for robbing you of your happiness.
Ugh, this irked me a bit. I use to work as a deli-clerk years ago, and I took so much pride in it to the point I was trained to do kitchen/bakery/ and Deli, as well as entrusted to train new hires. However, we had some lazy workers who just manage to fucked so much up on my days off, and me coming back to chaos (customers were given under-cooked chicken, sandwich platters were poorly made, cakes weren't right, etc). I had to do a lot of problem solving.
Anyway, my deli tales aside, I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. As a customer, you have way more power than you realize. If you want, you can go back, tell someone of your story and they might give you free sandwich (or at least, it's what I would and have done), good luck and feel better. ):

Holy crap, people use ANYthing as an excuse to act like they have depression and cannot function as humans.
Just know though, that Mr. Oogala Boogala from the jungles of Africa, seen in the video below, would shoot his own grandmother to have that deli sandwich that YOU thought was so bad that your stupid depression kicked in.
