She stares at my lips when i talk wtf

Hello everyone well i dont know if this is normal but its beginning to really bother me.I guess the question is if its normal that it bothers me.
One of my co workers shes an older woman. EVERY every effin time i talk to her or approach her, she looks at my lips. no wait, she STARES at my lips. she also looks at my neck, my chest area. no not my boobs you dirty folks. just my neck and that area
But most of all she is looking at my lips. not my eyes, no eye contact, just my lips
Does anyone have any idea any person would look at your lips when you talk? Why?

Is this normal to stare at someone's lips/mouth when they talk? and why would you do that

  • I usually do that because eye contact tends to creep me out a bit.

    • is that so, ItDuzz? But we would assume that your pretty blue eyes are a sight to see. No?

I don't see why you're so upset. I do this too for two reasons. One: I have a hard time making eye contact with people. Two: reading their lips makes them easier to understand.

Sometimes I think about other things when I'm talking to someone, not because their uninteresting, I just have a lot of things on my mind sometimes. Sometimes not all the words register in my mind and I only get half the story, but if I read your lips I'll get the parts I didn't hear.

This is very normal for lip readers. If she is older, she may be a bit deaf.

PS: I was actually prescribed hearing aids but then after I stopped smoking I didn't need them any more, presumably because of getting rid of all the congestiob

I did this for years and didn't realise why until I had my hearing checked. If her hearing isn't too good she may not even know she's doing it.

Hang about: there are a couple of generations of young people who use loud headphones so much they're all going to be deaf before they hit middle age, so let her keep practising lipreading, it's going to be a very valuable skill to have.
