Should bathrooms become one for male and female? what is the ideas?

I was reading some comments on here and someone posed an opinion that all bathrooms should be made for both male and female to use instead of having separate facilities.

so that got me curious, what do the people of the internet think about this idea? should all public bathrooms just become one bathroom? in the long run less space will be taken and there will just be one big bathroom.

do you think it's a good idea or bad idea?

Ehh... not so sure on this...think about a guy using the urinal and I have to bring my daughter in and she has to see that...some sick men might get off on it too and purposely expose themselves to women and children...
there are unisex but its just one bathroom with a door that can lock.

    • Yeah, because a guy's mere pressence near a woman turns him in to a sex offender trying to sexually harass a woman...Ironically, your take on this is exactly why I wouldn't want unisex bathrooms...To be judged as a potential sexual deviant just because I want to take a piss.

Lol I said some...some men....and you could not honestly say that this problem would not happen.
also even the guy just minding his own buisness a little girl does not need to see said buisness...urinals would be a problem

Actually, at the risk of downvotes, I don't think it would happen. The urinals would likely be taken out because of fear, but otherwise it would just be guys using the urinals as normal. Here's two reasons for this:

First, guys don't stand far enough away from the urinal for anyone to see their stuff, except for other people using the urinals (who are also all guys).

Second, anyone who did see a girl and immediately turn their bodies to flash them would get reported and taken away. Men can't just flash people in a public place, especially inside any institution that hopes to keep a good reputation, and get away with it. Not only that but, in most cases and especially anything dealing with children, they would probably take the girl's word for it.

Not even "some" men would cause this problem. At most, not any more than the amount of men that would expose themselves in broad daylight. If you count a number that low as still being "some", you're basically admitting that this wouldn't be a real problem.

I still think it would be a problem....you walk in they can wait for you to fully walk into the bathroom or right when you come out if a stall. They can be near the door to flash then take off easily...or have a mask flash you and trap you. I hardly think getting into trouble stops a criminal from breaking the law.

Even if I dont think this would happen often... I feel even once is too much.

I would feel uneasy and afraid of even an accidental flashing since I have a daughter.

Well, this would be a public restroom. It being shared means there would also be a higher chance of more than just two people being in there. Having a witness does deter criminals from breaking the law, and if it doesn't? Who cares, they're going to jail.

Accidental flashes don't happen. I can understand being worried for your daughter, but unless she's going into a shared gas station restroom, alone, in the middle of the night, she would probably be fine.

Once isn't too much because seeing some dude's penis isn't exactly life-ruining.

Not to mention, this has already had a chance of happening. There are some male parents that bring their daughters to the restroom with them, since they need to keep an eye on them (or change them). I haven't Google'd the subject, but I'm pretty sure that flashing hasn't been a problem in those situations.

He never once said he was talking about the entire male population. That was just you making mindless assumptions.

        • Yes by assuming that such behaviors can only happen from men, that women would be at risk of men.

Well, that was just me staying on topic - considering @reminiscent and your comment was talking about males. If you want to bring in female occurrences like so, then be my guest. They happen - yeah. And your point is...?

            • My point is that we're always assuming male malice whenever an idea of men and women sharing a space such as bathrooms i brought up.

I would be all for unisex restrooms. Problem is there will always be that one cunt that ruins it for the rest of us.

By the way, I think you mean restroom.

Three washrooms would be good...in any given place, have one male, one female, and one unisex. Transgender people could use whichever they feel more comfortable with, post-op or not.

reminiscent, what makes you think it is only possible for men to do so? Can't women be like that too? Why do you generalize?

No, men and women expel differently and use the restroom for different things. Mixing them up would be bad for everyone.

On a side note, it should take the same amount of space, just without the wall in the middle. In other words, less space would not be taken.

The wall takes up space, doesn't it? But more seriously, suppose a business determines it needs restroom facilities to accommodate four people.

They could make two restrooms with two stalls and two sinks in each, but but there's still a good chance three men or three women will come along and someone has to wait. So they'll probably want to hedge their bets and make three stalls in each restroom, which is larger overall than they actually need.

Or (under this proposal) they could build one room with four stalls and maybe three sinks and they're done.

I was thinking more along the lines of the types of business where restrooms would see heavier traffic. Movie theaters, churches, restaurants, etc. Assuming an even number of both genders, there should technically be the same amount of facilities. Any less, and a line would start to form.

I can see what you're talking about, in the scenario where the restrooms have low traffic and they're planning for a small amount of people to be using them. Different businesses would use different plans, but I think a majority of the public bathrooms would stay about the same size.

NO, because people, and by this I mean all people, need privacy! It's one thing if someone is trans and post operative or at least living their life as the opposite sex, but it's an entirely different thing if random men and women can just check out any bathroom they want out of curiosity.

I wouldn't want a man peeping in on me thru the crack of the stall door.

Men and women toilets must be separated. Woman use bathrooms much more than men. So that when a woman has an urgency she could use mens and dont wait on the line for the womens.

So we can get raped more often? Every time I enter a public toilet that is not busy I am scared a man has managed to sneak it.
