Should i break my friendship with him? we're too opposite.

I met this guy in college and what all started out great in the beginning eventually went downhill for the worse of the worse. I mean, we do have A FEW things in common (such as a passion for video games, for instance) but the more we hung out together, the more we realize how different we actually are from each other. In fact, its gotten to a point where we get on each other's nerves, and at the worse, fight and argue non-stop...yup, it's THAT bad. He can't understand me nor could I understand him. To put it simply, we clash big time.

For example:

- I'm fun and quirky, he's too serious and a downer.
- I'm messy and scattered-brain, he's neat and organized.
- I'm a sensitive type of guy, while he's cold and detached.
- I'm into romance, he really HATES romance.
- I'm an artsy creative sort of guy, he's more of a computer geek.
- I'm into fashion and style, he's more...well, simplistic.
- I'm very touchy-feely, he dislikes any form of affection.
- I'm the social-butterfly, he's the homebodie who prefers staying home.
- And lastly, I'm gay and he's straight.

And so on and so forth...you see, our differences are just too much to handle. As a result, we just can't get along!!!

Should I just break it up with him already? I've been thinking of making new friends because this guy is seriously NOT for me at all. For us to be friends in the first place is beyond me. Like, I don't get how it all even started. In fact, he already gave me hints that he doesn't want to have anything to do with me anymore, which is why I feel tempted to write this.

Firstly I don't think you can really have anything go downhill for the better lol. And omg id love to have a gay best friend. If you guys really can't stand each other, don't 'break it off' just slowly drift aopart without hurting one or another and you know it'll all work out.

Don't go out with a downer/ neat freak. Especially if he's not even into guys. ( I'm a straight female and I had a relationship with a moody neat freak and it was hell!)
Find a happy go lucky, sloppy gay dude. You're welcome:)

Don't force it if it's not real.

    • Uhhhhh, no? I don't get how you think this is trolling. It's a serious thread that needs serious answers. I mean, I'm usually not a serious person, but for the sake of this thread I kinda have to be serious. :/

Because honestly, my "friend" is not someone who I want to hang around with for too long. Our differences are a nuisance when we're together.
