Habits are hard to break, but if you give up you are a failure. Keep trying.
Embrace it. Quitting is impossible. If non smokers give you grief, blow smoke directly into their face and tell them to mind their own business.
Also when they sit down to pork out, remind them of the obesity epidemic, and that you're sick of paying for their bad habits, and then throw their food in the trash.
Seriously. I really hate non smokers, who make it their mission to make my life more miserable, than it already is.
Every time I try to quit the withdrawals make me feel angry and crazy. It's like hell. The withdrawals don't subside until 2 weeks later. And the last time I quit I started again just by being around other people that smoked and I didn't have a choice to leave the situation, I had to be around those people every day. I eventually bummed a cig from those people and started back at my habit.
I tried quitting but because I didn't really want to quit it never worked out ..
You have to be 100% committed and doing it because you want to rather than pressure from anyone else.
Carrot sticks helped me for a while
Smoking cessation right? I've heard of it. Been to a few meetings like that. Not sure if I could commit to something like that unless I got serious about quitting. My ex got me hooked on smoking and I used to be so against it before. Cigarettes don't even provide me with a high I'm just so addicted to nicotine. It's starting to take a toll on my appearance. (Wrinkles near eyes that aren't too deep but I'm only 23)
Well, if you picked up the habit from an ex then that should be more than enough reason to quit.
I know it ain't easy to quit smoking, because the cravings can be strong, and the withdrawals are awful, but if it's some kinda garbage from a past relationship then go ahead, girl, and clean that shit up. I'm not gonna pressure you, because I think it's triggering and counter productive, but be good to yourself, girl!
I've only been smoking for 3 yrs and it's really hard to quit. The best thing to do is reduce the amount you smoke. I have gone from 20 cigs to around 4-6 a day hoping to be able to reduce more. But take it one step at a time. I tried going cold turkey and the withdrawal effects feel like dogshit I wouldn't recommend it
It's pointless to feel guilty about being addicted to nicotine, but also pointless to keep using it.
What have you tried in your attempts to quit? There's medication which deals with the withdrawals; there's hypnotherapy; there's vaping; there's nicotine gum, patches and lozenges.
I smoked for decades and quit many times, but not soon enough, as I now have emphysema, diagnosed a while after I quit for the last time. Something which stopped me from starting again (and believe me, I know how easy that is!) was learning that in some countries where tobacco is grown the tobacco companies use child slave labor and if the kids don't meet their quota, they are raped. Once I knew that I could no longer support such disgusting companies.
You do realise that half of all smokers die of a smoking related illness? I didn't think it would happen to me either ....
Interesting approach. Tobacco companies put formaldehyde, and other chemicals into cigarette tobacco to make them extra addictive. American Spirit brand cigarettes are straight unprocessed tobacco like the native North American ancestors used. Smoke them for a couple of weeks to withdrawal from the additives. Then you will only be addicted to natural nicotine when you quit.
