Should i get a new dog??

I have a 2 year old doggy at home who I don't want being bored and lonely when me and the GF are at work, would it be detrimental to our dog to get a new dog, like would she grow jealous/stressed or socially would it be a great idea that she would have a companion?

Yes, get another dog! Your dog at home would like this too! 27

My brother got a second dog to give his first one a playmate and company while he was at work. As long as they are compatible I think it's nice that you are thinking of your pet's well being.

I used to consider that, then my boyfriend took a male dog home so we put the 2 dogs together (mine is a girl), we thought they would be friends so no longer feeling bored at home. Now.... we found that they barely talk to each other!!Like they are invisible to each other's eyes T_T I'd rather get my dog a cat friend

try googling the breed of your dog about such issues.

I thought the same thing. My puppy is alone a lot and I think toys aren't enough. I was going to buy another puppy but the vet told me it was a bad idea. They would fight for territory, food, blankets and toys. I hope that doesn't happen to you.

I got a second dog for my one year old dog and he hated it. My first dog was like an old soul who sighed a lot and lay around the place making us step over him. The second dog was sooo stupid always wanting to play, so the first one was tortured. It also meant I couldn't take the first one out with me in the car anymore as the second one got car sick so I felt guilty leaving it behind.

Consider the character of your dog. They don't always want pals to play with.

Yes. He/she needs a companion as much as we all do.

  • You could get a cat.
I have a cat and a dog; they get along famously and keep each other company when we're not around.

It really depends on the dog, if the dog likes and gets along with other dogs, than yes you should, but if your dog does not get along with other animals than no, and if you do get another dog, it should be a dog who is trained not to go to the bathroom in the house we had to get rid of our dog for that very reason.

  • introduce your dog to the new one to see if they get on before you decide to take it home

You should've got the dog earlier. But if your dog likes other dogs you should be good.
