Should i see a doctor after getting cut by a rusty screw?

My microwave has an exposed rusty screw sticking out where the handle broke, and when trying to open the door my hand slipped and I cut it on the screw. I immediately washed it and soaked it with alcohol but its been a day and it still really hurts. I had a tetanus shot a year ago for cut i got so do I need to see a doctor?

No. Use antiseptic on it once or twice a day until it heals.

It's going to depend on how deep the cut is and your first aid skills.

Clean up the area, use a tipple antibiotic ointment, put a bandaid (or similar) on it (they make large bandaids); or do a old fashion first aid pad and tape bandage (perhaps with extra gauze to absorb bleeding).

Chances are that it all it takes. That usually knocks down developing minor infections; if it continues to infect worse you will likely need at least a good first aid nurse, and in bad cases a Dr.

If you lack basic first aid skills - you will need to go to an urgent care clinic and a nurse practitioner will likely take care of it.

PS: you should keep at home a variety of bandaids (or similar) and triple antibiotic ointment, and some large gauze pads and first aid for worse wounds that you can use as a temporary cover until you can get more professional attention.

You'll be fine esp if the cut is minor. Get some peroxide, wash the wound, put some Neosporin on it, and bandage it up.
I'm glad you got a tetanus shot last year...if it was more than 5 years, I'd say see a doctor.

However, if it doesn't start to feel better after 2 to 3 days, you should see a doctor. and watch out for fevers and rashes around the wound.
