My parents never checked my phone from the moment they gave me one. Instead of constantly checking your kid's social media to see what they're up to, how about just talking to them and trying to have a real parental relationship? Geez...
I'm not saying the parents don't have the right, I'm just saying that if they have to, there's already something wrong.
Mine never checked my phone even as a kid and I got a smartphone at like 12. Checking a teenager’s phone (even one that’s like 13) will likely achieve nothing else than embarrassing them. If you’re 18+ and your parents still have to do things to monitor/punish you, it’s well too late
At 18 you’re an adult and have the right to your own privacy. If they’re paying for it and insist on reviewing it, get your own phone.
I really don't think parents should be allowed to, but if they're the ones paying for the rent, food, phone bill, and other necessities a kid is kind of at their mercy until they move out on their own.
I know my parents want to, but I won’t let them, they’ll make me delete all my accounts on websites and lose so many friends.
