Should russia be banned from international athletics competitions?

So it's been on the news today that WADA (the World Anti-Doping Association) announced in a report that Russia has been found to violate anti-doping regulations in athletics and sabotage in this scandal. It also advised the world governing body of athletics the IAAF to suspend Russia from all competition including the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janiero next summer. So do you agree with Russia been suspended from competition if that's what punishment will be handed out? Is it a stiff enough deterrent or will it amount to nothing?

    Trying to keep Russia out of the Olympics is like trying to stop men in their 60s from dating women in their 20s

    Absolutely! Another case of that Putin's total disregard for propriety and decency.
    It's about time the rest of the world took a stand and completely isolated them. Recently they are responsible for;
    Illegally invading a sovereign nation and annexing the Crimea!
    Their elite soldiers (who they still won't admit were there even though a number of them have been captured and identified) shot down a civilian airliner and murdered 298 humans for no reason at all!
    Are supporting the tyrannical regime of Bashar al-Assad against every other civilized nation on the planet.
    And now they have been found to have cheated over the last few Olympic Games and international competitions.
    Isolation is the only logical solution. They aren't fit to be members of the international community.

      Putin is one of the most powerful men in the world. Did you forget about the pipeline? Russia has way too much leverage for that to happen. Now....LEAVE PUTIN ALONE! LEAVE HIM ALONE!

        If only I could have a face to face with that cowardly prick. But then I'd go to prison like everybody else who has opposed him. He is a tyrant and a complete coward who won't allow open opposition. Hell, he put 4 little girls in prison who made fun of him and his policies. It takes a BIG MAN to jail 4 young girls. A BIG MAN!
        And no, I haven't forgotten the pipeline. Funny how the EU and even the Ukraine blew him off over his pipeline, when the chips were down. The world doesn't NEED his product, it's just convenient, as has been proved. Why do you think oil prices have dropped so dramatically? He put all his eggs in one basket and the world slapped his little fanny. Now he's bankrupted his country and his people are starving, all so he can strut around like a barnyard cock.
        If you think he is a great man, then you are wearing blinders. He may very well start a war that will be catastrophic for his people, but he doesn't seem to care one iota about them, only his image.
        Ain't it funny how it's the LITTLE men who are so power hungry, at everyone else's expense?

          I never said he was great. Isolation has really helped the average people of North Korea...yeah right. Embargos and isolation also stopped Japan in WWII....yeah right.

            Absolutely correct, but the meek Japanese and the oppressed Koreans are not the Russians. They are a strong and determined people.
            Putin's popularity will tumble and he will be removed from power when the Russian people finally understand that the man is egocentric megalomaniac and cares nothing for them.
            How do you think the average Russian will feel after finding out that their sports heroes are all cheats, on Putin's orders?
