Should the daycare workers be criminally charged?

We've all probably seen that video of a daycare worker in a Scream Mask scaring young children.

Should they be charged with felony child abuse? My God, I don't know how many times people scared me when I was a young girl. Although, I love horror and scary movies.

But, besides that point, are we really going too far as a society?

Not OP, but for those who haven’t seen the video I should explain something - this was not one of those 20 second Jump out, boo, kid screams, take off mask, things.

These workers did this for MINUTES long, with children sobbing and screaming for MINUTES. It went on WAY too long. These children are also very, very, young. They may not even be able to grasp the concept that the “threat” is gone if the worker left with it on and came back with it off. It absolutely would be a physical altercation had it been my children

Video here, I guarantee for those who do not think it is ‘that big a deal’ will change their mind after viewing the video.
The video I posted I don’t even believe is the full length as I remember the original being much longer, this one appears cut.

Ohhh, I see now. I assumed the worker just did a little scare then stopped. That's fucking crazy, the hell?

A couple nightmares but nothing criminally abusive.

They were being assholes no doubt. Nothing more than being fired though.

Incredibly unprofessional and stupid for them to do that, especially when the child isn't their own. It shouldn't constitute abuse though. If that's considered abuse then basically everyone who grew up with an older brother grew up being abused

So you think it's okay to abuse children?

So you think hurting a child is justified? So you want all children to be abused? WTF? Seek help.

Just looks like a fireable offence.

I dont see anything criminal. Nothing, at least nothing felonious.

Plus I havent seen the video. Not on my feed.

Edit saw the video Kholat shared with the class. Changes nothing tbh.

Not criminally charged that's extreme. Fired and not able to work with children again though

After seeing the link KholatKhult left, yeah, I think they should be charged. They shouldn't even be allowed to be near young kids.

It's not abuse. It's just fucked up. Firing and barring them from taking a daycare job in the future seems fit.

No, he should not. Yes it was silly, but it wasn't that bad. If you start criminally charging everyone who upsets a child with "felony child abuse" then you're way way to authoratarian.

Do you guys have working with children cards in the US? I would say they would have to have these revoked.

Not sure about a criminal charge after seeing the video, but I think the parents should file a lawsuit.

I think they should be sued and banned from caring for kids

To be fair if we did this we would have to charge every other annoying Halloween prankster. I would say it makes more sense to give them a fine or fire somebody but it doesn't make sense to get these people arrested. As it would set the standard and we don't need to be putting Halloween prankster all behind bars. I pretty sure cops already have enough stuff to deal with on Halloween and you just want to give more people a criminal records for being idiots.

It was mean of them to do but I don't think they should be criminally charged.
