Social disaster?

Is it normal to be nervous in almost every social situation? I honestly get so nervous to present in front of class, talk to my professors, and even to go to the bathroom during class... I'm not sure if everyone is terrified in most of these situations, but I know that it's so difficult for me to do things like this. I dread to do these things, and I feel like everyone else isn't bothered by it at all. Is this normal?

Sounds like severe anxiety. I don't fear these things at all unless I have a reason to fear them (like say I'm going to talk to my professor because his teaching methods suck...then I'm nervous, but simply talking to them doesn't really make me nervous). See your primary Doctor, describe in detail how this anxiety effects you and your day to day life, and they will prescribe you an anti anxiety medication. It will change your life for the better. Please do this for yourself. Remember that you are normal and that you are not alone. Don't be afraid to ask a friend or family member for help as well. Support is everything.

Being overly self-conscious centers around having an ego that's way too large. Learn to kill it, to get outside of your head and realize that no one really cares if you do something embarrassing or a little awkward.

That's how your self-shame goes away.

You most likely have anxiety which means get help or talk to someone. A doctor or maybe a therapist but talk to someone its damaging to your health more than you realize and getting help will help you in the long run.

I get this too and I was diagnosed with social anxiety. I'm on medication for it now and it helps.

Meds are a gift when you find the right one. People with ADD do it. People with Asthma do it. You have a right to so you can function.
