Yes, what you're saying kinda makes sense to me, but I'm also quite bad at math. The highest level of math I completed in high school was freshman algebra I, and sophomore geometry. I failed both classes in the school year, and ended up having to retake those in summer school where I made a C in both classes.
I'm also relatively sure that I have been living with undiagnosed, and untreated ADD/ADHD most of my life, and it's only become noticeable for me since I started menopause.
I feel like what you're trying to say here is a metaphorical expression of underachievement, and existential angst through the expression of basic algebra. Anyway, like I said before, I'm not good at math, and I'm really more of a liberal arts/humanities sort of person. In high school, and college I was much better, and made better grades in English. I think I spent most of my freshman algebra class being bored, and dissociated; my body was in class, but my mind was elsewhere.
