Sometimes i can't swallow my food

I can swallow my food most of the time, but for about a year now I feel like the food gets caught in my throat. I can breathe, but it seems my throat in constricting and getting smaller sometimes. The only thing that seems to relieve some of the pressure is if I gulp down a mouthful of a carbonated drink. One time this happened I couldn't even do that because I wasn't able to swallow it. It also feels like I have to burp but I can't when this happens. Has anybody else had this happen to them?

I get that a lot when I'm nervous. Basically any time I start to get nervous, my throat seems to constrict, which can make it a little difficult to breathe.

My brother has an ilness called acalasia, please check it up on google to see if it matches your symptoms.
If not the case, you may have reflux.

It is either stress/anxiety or a gastrointestinal issue. I had this problem pretty bad until recently, although it still happens sometimes. For me, the more stressors I eliminate, the easier it gets to swallow...hmm...maybe that's where the idiom "hard to swallow" comes from...

Haven't you posted this before? If so, I'm sorry the doctors haven't been able to solve it for you yet. Sounds frustrating.
