Squirrels and birds tease my cat

I have an indoor cat but we let him on a screened-in porch. I have seen animals such as birds and especially squirrels tease him, purposely standing right in front of him and jump around, wiggle and make really weird noises. They definitely see the cat but I wonder do they know he cant get out because of the screen? Once he got so mad he pounced against the screen and made a hole and chased a squirrel up a tree.
I don't want my cat to eat these creatures but if they tease him I think they are kind of asking for it. Should I let him chase them just to teach them a lesson?

Yeah my cat has this problem too. Squirrel was holding a whole slice of pizza in his mouth, taunting my cat from behind the glass.

I know when my cat is on the prowl because there is almost always a squirrel in a tree fussing at him. It's pretty funny. He looks pissed off and indignant while the squirrel chews him out.

  • Birds are really bad. Mocking birds are the worst when it comes to attacking people and animals.

I doubt the cat'd catch them so the biggest problem would be letting an indoor cat outside their behavior becomes incredibly unpredictable
