Still living at home...

Is it bad that I'm still living at home? I'm going to a community college and I'm in my second year. I do have a part-time job but I don't really contribute to the family income and I don't really make enough to move out just yet (roughly $8 per hour and not full time). I kind of feel bad for my parents but at the same time, I don't have any other place to stay... I'm transferring to a 4-year in the city next year but what if I don't get a solid job right after I graduate and I still have to live with my parents?

It's fine. It's actually pretty normal and is becoming more common. As long as your parents don't care then whatever, right.

I'm 24 and I still live with my dad. But I do have a full time job, contribute to bill paying and I can see myself staying there for the near future. It's totally fine, once you start earning enough you shouldn't have a problem helping with payments.

I'm 26 and still live at home, but I pay rent, help out, clean, buy groceries and stuff so I don't feel like a bum lol I work in retail so I don't make much, I'm saving up to move out in the future though.

The answer depends on how old you are, but yes, like others have said it's become quite common. So normal? Probably. Desirable? Depends on who you want to be in this life. I moved out when I turned 18 and never looked back. And, yup, went to college and got a degree and all of that and more.

It's normal when you're in college and first starting out after college to live at home. After that, if you're still struggling, you can share an apt and get roommates to be more independent from your parents.

Don't beat yourself up about it. Just do your best, concentrate on your studies and don't waste your money on frivolous bullshit.

It is a common thing to stay with parents - times can be hard and we at some point need to fall back on family. My suggestion is to use this opportunity to try to save as much as possible for when you move out.
