Subluxation and me

HEY! So I am not sure if this is an actual condition, or if there is a name for it. It is genetic though and my sister has as well as my mom. I have it the worst though and it started worsening along with other genetic conditions this year. Not sure but I am guessing I am at some type of developmental stage am 23 in a couple months.

Any ways this one causes the bones to partially dislocate which hurts a lot and some times they take a while to pop back in. Serious ones like my in my throat if it is more than a couple mins I have to go to the hospital, luckily hasn't happened yet because I've had it 3 times this month and due to the pressure makes you think you're choking which is not fun. My feet bones and knees have all ways been loose so they pop in out all the time, the feet hurt like crazy with all those bones popping in at once is why I don't jump anymore. Or if suspended I slowly put my feet back onto the ground. Only other ones this year was in my chest which was like a week lasting, felt like heart burn meh. Other one when it first began to "spread" I put my arms up one morning and pop goes my shoulder.Doctor said nothing they could do, said it was a sublux and sent me home.

I have the same problem. Genetically all my bones have a predisposition to dislocate, but the big problem was happening in one of my arms, it had dislocated itself a lot of times and it was starting to damage the bone so I had to do a surgery to put pins on it. But there's nothing I can do about the rest of the body. One of my doctors recomended to drink goat's milk because it makes the ligaments between the bones stronger, but I was supposed to drink a lot of this milk and it has a really bad taste so I stopped. I had to do a lot of physiotherapy and my physiotherapist said that the best thing to do is to try to strengthen the body by going to the gym

    • Not alone! Yeah I've heard this too regarding exercise. But it is hard you have to do it no matter what every day, missing one or two days is ok but anymore sets you way back. Is hard too with torn muscles and other past injuries. That's where it scares me to be honest, most doctors will advise against surgery, most athletes will advise not to put a lot of stress on the area. So your mobility is out the window for a lot of things which makes motivation for that daily exercise even harder. I'm not too bad, I just can't jump or run anymore for the rest of my life due to an accident a couple months ago. My upper body injuries like you say they're easier to fix, low weight, lots of stretching and a long long time at least a year or 6 months till you really start to notice any thing. You have to compensate for the loss by strengthening the surrounding area.

If you are sublaxing on a normal basis you probibly have a hypermobility disorder. Many of which are genetic. Two of the more common (in terms of rare hypermobility disorders, are Marfans and Ehlers-Danlos.
