I know it's common, but I hate that I have this chronic, disgusting disease. When the bubbles appear on my lips I'm too ashamed to show up to work.
Never had a cold sore. Don't run out of sick days though. I doubt most people with glance more than twice.
If you take a lot of sick days you will probably get fired, so I'd say go to work even if you're embarrassed. Like you said, it's common.
