Teacher and former student relationships

I'm a exercise science grad student, 22 years old. I've been teaching PE classes for almost a year at my university. My students, on average, are about 20 years old. Some of them are very attractive. Would it be reasonable for me to make a move AFTER the semesters are over? At that point, I wouldn't be their teacher, they wouldn't be my students.

or is that unethical?

Wait until they are no longer enrolled in the institution.

I would do it, hell I'd do it while I'm teaching them.

Their is a 2 year gap between you and your students, usually it's like a man in his late 30's/40's hitting on an 18 year old. Now THAT is unethical.

Unless your school has some sort of policy against dating your students (which I doubt), then I'd go for it but I would be careful. Some students might become offended by a PE coach hitting on them and I know that sometimes women can become offended when their exercise instructor flirts with them as some see it as a violation of trust

But otherwise, I don't see how it could hurt.

Definitely do not want to get into trouble. The school does have a policy about this, but it is only for current teachers and students. It's probably not a problem after the semester is over.

I think that you should check with them to ensure their definition of what a "current" student is, because their being enrolled at that school might classify them as a "current" student.
